So, my high school friend Jean is in Vancouver now! We are super excited, since last time I visited her in Bath, we haven’t seen each other for more than a year.
After she arrived, we decided to go visit Seattle. She doesn’t know Vancouver well, and from what I see, she puts the States on her priority. Kinda stereotypic thing, like, “Vancouver depends on the States”. Even though most Chinese don’t really know what is the closest state to Vancouver, or which province Vancouver is in. I’m totally fine with this, because two years in Vancouver really taught me how to be polite and respectful, without any rosy/un-rosy glasses on.
Last time I came to Seattle, it was August and I did some real crazy things. My version of sleepless Seattle was sleeping in University of Washington (literally, without a room or bed or anything. HOMELESS). That backpacker time tho… This time we got nice Airbnb room with a Japanese American host who knows a lot of decent food, and we got Uber to save some energy.
We went there by train, Amtrak gave us the perfect view which was beyond our expectation.
Elliot’s Oyster House was definitely a highlight. We had a celebration patter with king crab and all kinds of oysters. I wasn’t a big fan of seafood. But after this, I’m totally changed!
This year in Canada, Cherry Blossom Frap wasn’t a choice of Starbucks. BUT it is in Seattle! Of course we had it!!
